The artist María Pendones is surprised by the viewer’s eye (male gaze) taking a shower (privacy violated). She then begins to tell him an anecdote from General Tzung Tze’s war manual. The idea of women as “property”, subject to discipline and punishment, constitutes the central theme of this video. This video was made for the María Pendones show “Marginalia”.1999.
