Angels

1992 - 1993

Following the experimental period of the Post-New York era, Angels mark the first time in del Paso’s work where there is a clear direction in his art discourse, both in composition and aesthetics, as well as a theme.

Happening the loss of his first newborn child, del Paso questions his faith in god and life. Having lost his little angel, he starts painting angels, inspired by the paintings of Caravaggio.
